Buket Uzuner is an author of short stories, travelogues, and novels. Originally trained as a molecular biologist and environmental scientist she studied and worked at universities in Turkey (Hacettepe and METU), Norway, USA and Finland. Mrs Uzuner was a honorary fellow writer at the The University of Iowa and has travelled and lived in North Africa, North America and Europe. Today she lives in Istanbul with her son. |
