  Mr. Wenaweser studied literature, languages, history and philosophy at Zürich University and diplomacy at the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva

2004-2005 Vice-Chair of the Open-Ended Working Group on Security Council Reform
2004-2009 Chairman of the Special Working Group on the Crime of Aggression
2006-2007 Vice-President of the 61st session of the UN General Assembly
  Previously, Mr. Wenaweser worked as Deputy Permanent Representative of Liechtenstein to the UN and as diplomatic officer in the Office for Foreign Affairs in Liechtenstein
 
 Ambassador Christian Wenaweser is currently Permanent Representative of Liechtenstein to the United Nations in New York.
 He is also President of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). In that role, he presided over the first Review Conference of the ICC in 2010 in Kampala Uganda, which adopted amendments to the Rome Statute on the Crime of Aggression and on extending the use of certain weapons as war crimes in non-international conflicts.
