| Gunter Schneider studied guitar and musicology in Innsbruck and teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Furthermore, he is a performer of new music and an improviser. He cooperates with various orchestras and ensembles (Ensemble Modern, RSO Vienna ...) and gave concerts in Europe, Israel, USA, Japan and China. Gunter Schneider composes solo, chamber and orchestral music, pieces for guitar published by Doblinger, UE and Helbling. Together with his spouse Barbara Romen, he runs own and collective projects, including "Free Music St. Johann", where the focus is on building and training an improvisation orchestra on the initiative of "Arge WirkWerk" in the "Alte Gerberei" in St. Johann in Tirol and an alternative university project in collaboration with the Neuberg College of Peter Waterhouse. |
