in englischer SpracheDas Vertrauen der Öffentlichkeit in die Wissenschaft ist wichtig. Fehlverhalten auf diesem Gebiet verletzt dieses Vertrauen und hat nachteilige Auswirkungen auf den einzelnen Täter, seine Kollegen und Institutionen, sowie auf jene, die das Ganze aufdecken. Es wirkt sich aber auch auf das Forschungswissen insgesamt aus und damit auf die erweiterte Forschungscommunity und ganze Forschungsgebiete. Eine konstruktive Diskussion dieses Problems muss notwendigerweise eine ganze Reihe von Fragen berücksichtigen, von denen manche sehr komplex sind und auf die es keine einfachen Antworten gibt: Für wen genau ist Wissenschaft eigentlich da? Nehmen die Betrugsfälle zu? Welcher Art ist der Druck, der eine moralisch fundierte Wissenschaftsgesinnung gefährdet? Wie kann man internationale Richtlinien/Regeln für richtiges wissenschaftliches Verhalten einführen oder durchsetzen, wenn so viele der Ansicht sind, dass moralische Werte von der jeweiligen Kultur abhängen? Könnte die Ausbildung eine Rolle bei der Eindämmung des Fehlverhaltens spielen? Wenn ja, wie sollte diese Ausbildung aussehen? Wer soll die Forschung kontrollieren? In diesem Arbeitskreis werden wir diese und andere Fragen behandeln mit dem Ziel, konstruktiv zur breiteren Diskussion des Themas der diesjährigen Technologiegespräche beizutragen.
