Was können etwa Ökonomen und Mathematiker über die Welt hieb- und stichfest aussagen? Wie konstruieren Archäologen Modelle über die Vergangenheit? Welches Modell liegt der Quantenphysik zugrunde? Und wozu, so fragen Philosophen und Religionswissenschaftler brauchen wir überhaupt Modelle? Ist die Wirklichkeit zu komplex? Gibt es auch alternative Zugänge? Welche der im Hintergrund stehenden (virtuellen) Wirklichkeitsmodelle halten am Prüfstand der Praxis stand?
