Nouneh SARKISSIAN

Nouneh Sarkissian has over 25 years of experience in journalism. She started her career in 1986 with the Armenian State TV, then worked as a reporter, editor and producer with A1 - the first independent news production studio in Armenia, she was covering first years of national independence, crises and Karabakh war. For the past 17 years she has been the Managing Director of Internews Media Support NGO in Armenia, oversighting media training courses, production of TV and radio programs, documentary films and multimedia content, advocacy and media legislation development activity. Internews has been the pioneer in media education courses in Armenia and for many years has been working actively on using media as a tool for dialogue and conflict transformation, development and social changes.. Nouneh Sarkissian also conducts practical journalism courses for Masters program students in the Russian-Armenian Slavonic University in Yerevan and a Masters course on Armenian media market in the Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov. | |
Nouneh Sarkissian holds a Diploma in Russian Philology from the Yerevan State University and certificates in management from the Open University (UK). She was a Chevening senior fellow and took conflict resolution courses in University of York, UK in 2010 and Bill Maynes fellow of Eurasia Foundation, USA, 2011. | |
She is a member of the Union of Journalists of Armenia, board member of the Yerevan Press Club and Advisory Board member of the Eurasia Partnership Foundation. In last ten years she was serving as Jury member for several foreign and Armenian film festivals and professional contests. |
