The Ten Commandments for a Successful Lobbyist
1. Be competent in your field of interests
2. Establish a network for both the collection of information and access to decision makers inside and outside your organisation
3. Identify relevant information and pass it, in the appropriate form, to the right people in your organisation, best with a recommendation on what to do
4. Lobby in due time and at the right place (right institution, right people)
5. Do not rely on personal or political relations alone – there is no  government majority at the EU
6.Look for allies inside and outside your organisation and make sure that all of them pursue a uniform line of argument and strategy
7. Better pursue simple, factual, and objectively valid arguments, which are politically  in , than a complicated political approach, which may be scientifically correct but will not be understood easily
8. Recognise when you have to accept a compromise and convince also the chief executives in your organisation of this necessity
9. Never cheat
10.No  personal rewards for favourable decisions by political or administrative decision makers
