The seminar will discuss the role of religion in contemporary society with a special emphasis on trust issues and the political dimension of religions. We will discuss questions like:

– What does it mean to be „religious“?
– What does it take to understand a religious person?
– What is the influence of religion?
– What is the place of religions in a pluralistic society?
– Why do people trust or distrust religions?
– Is there a decline in the trust in religious institutions?
