02: Ungleichheit: Maßgebender Faktor für die Sicherheitspolitik der EU
Einstige Sicherheits- und Militärbündnisse wurden eingeführt, um die Sicherheit für alle teilnehmenden Länder zu gewährleisten. Ungleichheiten zwischen den verschiedenen Mitgliedern wurden akzeptiert solange ein gemeinsames starkes Interesse vorlag. Dies veränderte sich und führte zu unterschiedlichen Bedrohungswahrnehmungen oder zu unterschiedlichen Graden von Ambitionen bei Auslandsvorhaben. Wir fragen uns, ob die EU in Sicherheitsbelangen wie die USA, Russland oder China handeln kann. Das zeitgenössische Sicherheitsumfeld liefert einen Hintergrund für die kritische Analyse der EU als derzeitigen und zukünftigen Träger in Sicherheitsbelangen.
