14: Der Sicherheitsrat der Vereinten Nationen
Der Sicherheitsrat der Vereinten Nationen ist ein internationales Gremium, das die Ungleichheiten in der Staatengemeinschaft sogar statutarisch wiederspiegelt. Worin bestehen die wesentlichen Aufgaben, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Sicherheitsrates? Insider werden anhand konkreter Fallbeispiele dessen Tätigkeit und innere Dynamik illustrieren. Dabei soll auch die in der UN-Charta institutionalisierte Sonderrolle der fünf Ständigen Mitglieder dargestellt werden. Weiterhin soll diskutiert werden, inwieweit das Konzept des „Weltpolizisten“ 70 Jahre nach der Gründung dieser Weltorganisation funktioniert bzw. rechtfertigbar ist.
