Europäisches Forum Alpbach in Zusammenarbeit mit IIASA – International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis
Wenngleich es keine allgemein gültige Definition einer „grünen Wirtschaft“ gibt, liegt der Schwerpunkt vieler Definitionen auf „grünem Wachstum“, das einen geringen CO2-Ausstoß aufweist, ressourcenschonend und sozial integrativ ist. Welche Folgen hat die Einführung dieses Konzepts? Worin unterscheidet es sich von „nachhaltiger Entwicklung“?

Changhua WU

Greater China Director, The Climate Group, Beijing

 Changhua Wu is the Greater China Director of The Climate Group. A China specialist for nearly 20 years and an environment and development policy analyst, she leads the organization s strategic development in the region and manages its Greater China operations. Before joining The Climate Group, she was Executive Director of China Operations of ENSR, working closely with multi-national corporations to support their business development in China and also their compliance with Chinese regulations. Before returning to China, she directed the Program for China Studies at the WRI - World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, and consulted for multinational organizations like the World Bank, UNEP, and UNDP.

Nisha PILLAI

Former News Anchor, BBC, London

 Ms Nisha Pillai is an accomplished former news presenter with BBC World News who now specialises in moderating Panel Discussions and High Level Dialogues. She has worked closely with several UN agencies, and with scientific institutes such as CERN, IIASA and the Planet Under Pressure conference which fed into Rio +20.
 Nisha's 25 year career at the BBC culminated as one of the main news anchors at BBC World News, where she reported extensively during the 9/11 attacks and the Iraq war. She was also one of the first regular interviewers on Hard Talk. As an award-winning investigative journalist at 'Panorama', the BBC's flagship current affairs programme, Nisha had notable investigations to her name. She cut her teeth as a financial journalist on the BBC's Money Programme and at the Investors Chronicle. She studied economics at the London School of Economics.
