Dr. Ha-Joon CHANG
Reader in the Political Economy of Development, Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge
| Ha-Joon Chang, is one of the leading industrial policy experts and institutional economists specialising in development economics. Currently a Reader in the Political Economy of Development at the University of Cambridge. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the European Investment Bank as well as to Oxfam and various United Nations agencies. | |
| Ha-Joon Chang is the author of several influential policy books, including "Kicking Away the Ladder Development Strategy in Historical Perspective" (which won the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy's 2003 Gunnar Myrdal Prize), "Bad Samaritans: The Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism" in 2008. Chang's latest book published in 2010 is "23 Things They Don't Tell You About Capitalism". | |
| Ha-Joon Chang has examined a large body of historical material to reach some very interesting and important conclusions about institutions and economic development. Not only is the historical picture reexamined, but Chang uses this to argue the need for a rethinking on the policies and institutions desired in today's developing nations. | |

Dorothy Ng'ambi TEMBO

| Ms. Dorothy Tembo is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) Executive Secretariat in Geneva. Prior to joining the EIF Executive Secretariat, Ms. Tembo was Chief Trade Negotiator and Director, Foreign Trade, in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Zambia, from 2004 to 2008. From 2003 to 2004, Ms. Tembo worked as a Trade and Investment Advisor on the USAID Zambia Trade and Investment Enhancement Project (ZAMTIE) project in Lusaka, providing support to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry and the private sector. During 2000 and 2003, Ms. Tembo served as Deputy Team Leader on the USAID RAPID project in Botswana, assisting 14 SADC countries in the implementation of the SADC Trade Protocol, after having served in various positions in the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry and Zambia's National Commission for Development Planning. Ms. Tembo has experience in trade and development issues relating not only to her native Eastern and Southern African region but to all the regions that are covered by the EIF. Ms. Tembo graduated from the University of Zambia with a major in Economics and a minor in African Development Studies. |

| Rodney Smith has been an investment banker and stockbroker, He joined the Financial Times after an early career as a management trainee in banking and mining engineer. He has also advised on public relations matters and serves pro bono on several committees and charities. |
