12: Wettbewerb um Ressourcen als Treiber von Green Technologies
Konflikte um Ressourcen bewirken Veränderungen in der Gesellschaft, aber auch in der Technologieentwicklung, wie z.B. die erfolgreiche Etablierung einer breiten Palette von Umwelt- und Energietechnologien. Global, aber auch lokal gibt es weiterhin Konflikte wegen knapper Ressourcen. Bei steigender Weltbevölkerung und steigendem Wohlstand wird der Wettbewerb um Ressourcen zunehmen und hat Konfliktpotenzial bis hin zu bewaffneten Auseinandersetzungen. Ressourceneffizienz durch innovative Technologien ist daher entscheidend für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung national und global.
