Architecture Forum

The 5 th Alpbach Architecture Forum is devoted to one of the key issues facing the industry.In the light of relentlessly rising un-and under employment amongst architects across Europe and an apparently ever deeper rift between the concerns of architecture schools and the needs of the building industry,this years forum devotes itself to the subject of architectural education. Day one will address two basic questions:Is the general European educational model still appropriate and, more specifically,what do the construction industry in general and the architectural and engineering professions in particular require of today 's graduates? Day two will synthesise these two questions into a benchmarking analysis of European approaches to architectural education.In the light of a series of presentations from personalities from a cross-section of leading European Schools of Architecture,the forum will attempt to establish some groundrules for the future.
