Bankingseminar
-"Continuity and Discontinuity" is a very fitting description for the current situation in banking. Although the banking industry appears to be continuing along its usual orderly path, certain faults are beginning to manifest themselves beneath the surface and could easily lead to discontinuity. The current changes could bring about sustained changes in companies' financing behavior.
Along with all this uncertainty, the risks with which banks are confronted - and which have to be taken into consideration in every management decision - are also on the rise. These risks include market risk as well as credit risk, which is now seeing increased attention. Another form is operational risk, which has gained in importance due to the impending regulations of Basel II.
This year's banking seminar aims not only to elucidate the most important types of risk as well as means of measurement and control, but also to identify and discuss the fundamentals of an enterprise-wide, integrated risk control system for banks.
