Built Environment Symposium
-Cities are booming. At their best, they are vibrant places to live in and offer a huge social and economic value. To achieve or sustain this status cities do not only need a flourishing economy and functioning legal and political systems but also a liveable environment and affordable housing. However, for many the latter is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
At the Built Environment Symposium 2014 we will discuss how liveable housing can be created for all members of society, in particular for those with low income. What is liveable housing and which physiological needs do we actually have? Which different cultures exist in the housing supply? From which best-practice concepts and worst-practice examples can we learn? Which reforms of Austrian housing laws are required?
For a better interconnection of the contents of the individual sessions, there will be one moderator chairing all the events of this year's Built Environment Symposium. The knowledge and experience of the participants will be the basis for new ideas in building culture.
