-Can Europe's economy still fulfil its most important promise of providing employment and increasing welfare? Events in recent years have raised doubts among many citizens, especially from the younger generations. A lack of prospects is causing widespread resentment. We will discuss how Europe's economy could be re-imagined to increase competitiveness and meet society's needs in a better and more sustainable way.
What are and what should be the goals of economic activities? Are there any strategies or models today that reconcile economic, social and ecological objectives? Do we need new macroeconomic approaches to understand recent developments? Which are Europe's core competences in global value chains? Which changes in the business world do young Europeans expect and how are they trying to adapt their businesses in order to deal with the coming challenges? How can (European) politics support them in becoming more active citizens?
