-

This year s Universities of Applied Sciences Forum is dedicated to the topic of 'Justice: The responsibility of higher education institutions in research and development as a driving force in economic and social development'. Keynote speaker Julian Nida-Rümelin, Professor of Philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, will address 'Old ideals and new challenges in higher education'. His presentation will form the basis for the subsequent top level panel discussion.

As examples for the 21 universities of applied sciences based in Austria, three inter-national research projects on the subjects of equity in medicine and lifestyle, multimedial network neutrality, and comparisons of the burden of disease will provide insights into the immediate power of innovation in research and development.

The Universities of Applied Sciences Forum targets all stakeholders in the field of higher education, researchers, partnering companies, media representatives as well as students.
