Health Symposium
-The right to health means providing everyone with equal access to adequate health care. This year's Health Symposium will deal with the following issues: How can we provide our children with the best possible disease prevention and optimal medical treatment? Which concepts are needed to provide the ever increasing number of people in need of care with a fair and effective medical treatment? Which services shall be provided by the health care system to the chronically ill, whose treatment demands more and more resources? To which extent is patient autonomy required and reasonable, and which rights have to be granted to patients?
The new structure of the Health Symposium offers its participants the opportunity to discuss these central issues in the panel sessions as well as in interactive working groups. The resulting propositions will form the basis for the concluding political discussion, in which a fair health policy is assumed to require the involvement of various stakeholders.
