Health Symposium

This year's Alpbach Health Symposium is devoted to the topic "The limits of research" in the medical field and will investigate the problems of clinical research in the light of current knowledge in the fields of genetic and protein research (genomics, pro-teomics). What does the decryption of the genome, and the result-ing findings mean for modern medicine? How can animal models help us to understand the development (pathogenesis), complex-ity and clinical significance of human diseases? Which problems does clinical research bring about, and how can we deal with the associated fears among patients? Do the objectives of university research and industrial research differ?
