Higher Education Symposium
-In an increasingly complex reality of life, society s expectations towards graduates are also changing. We question the implications this has for the system of higher education. As research and educational institutions, universities participate in the development of innovations, while simultaneously imparting the newest findings to their students. But how can universities prepare their graduates for a changing world? How should universities adapt to new technologies and learning methods? How should they act in a globally connected context? And lastly which role can the tertiary education sector play, and which should it play, in a constantly changing world.
The reconceived Alpbach Higher Education Symposium brings the topic of university education to the fore. National and international experts and stakeholders from the university sector enter a shared dialogue about the future of tertiary education. Over thirty best practice case studies provide an insight into new teaching and learning methods and shed light upon what has already been achieved. The Higher Education Symposium will be facilitated by Peter Woodward from the United Kingdom.
