Interreligious Meditation

-

In close cooperation with the Evangelical Church of Austria and the Jewish and the Islamic religious communities in Vienna, the Salzburg Archdiocese will organise a daily spiritual morning service from August, 18 to August, 30 August. All participants of the European Forum Alpbach as well as interested Alpbach residents are warmly invited. The interreligious exercises are intended as a spiritual stimulus for the day and should offer the possibility of a joint reflection on the fundamental values of the Judeo-Christian tradition of western civilization and the Islamic faith. The Old and the New Testament and the Koranic religious message of Mohammed are the main themes of the morning sessions.

The sessions will all be held in the auditorium of the Community Centre Alpbach, on the upper floor of the fire station at the village entrance. Participation is free of charge. Hanna Molden and Gabriele Schneider-Fuchs will lead the programme. The interreligious meditation is coordinated by Franz Bachmaier and Friso D. Heyt. After every morning session all participants are invited for a breakfast buffet in the local presbytery.
