Health Symposium
-Healthcare systems need to take into account a population’s diversity in order to be resilient. But are our health services - as they stand today - ready to tackle the challenges of the future? Changes in Europe’s demographics and their implications for care and treatment are forcing us to rethink the prevailing healthcare system. To be mindful of the diversity of patients means to devise a new way altogether of interacting with individuals in healthcare. The programme of the Health Symposium will examine the macro- as well as the micro-levels and address issues such as: what structural frameworks do healthcare professionals need and how do healthcare curricula need to change? How resilient can our societies be if we make our happiness conditional on health, beauty, productivity and success? Should we make peace with our own shortcomings?
