Perspectives

The Perspectives 2012 will shed light on what young people expect from their future and contrast these expectations with the main trends and outlooks until 2040. Which social, economic and political changes are under way? Will the expectations of the young generation stand the test of reality?

The discussion will focus on changing lifestyles, as well as on tomorrow's world of business and work: Do young people feel welcome and at ease in that world? What are their visions of self-fulfilment and their working lives?

Another focus will be the young generation's approach to politics and democracy. What are the reasons for their disenchantment with politics? What do young people expect from policymakers? What could participation look like?

In the concluding panel we will ask what politics should do today to prepare our youth for the challenges of tomorrow.
