Political Symposium

-

A New Foreign Policy

Foreign policy was once considered a task conceived of and carried out exclusively by heads of state, using classic diplomacy to create and maintain a peaceful balance of interests among sovereign states. However, it has long since become a component of constantly changing international relations, which are characterized by new issues, levels and players. Like all other fields of political activity, foreign policy is also immediately affected by the processes of globalization and their effects. This year s Political Symposium will illuminate the paradigm shift in foreign policy and include discussions among old and new international decision-makers on the consequences for basic issues such as peace, security and justice.
