Romania – Austria – Europe

The accession of Romania to the European Union will be another important step in the peaceful integration of Europe. The symposium will begin with a comprehensive analysis of all relevant considerations related to the accession of this large and important southeastern European country. With Romania, and Bulgaria, the EU will gain access to the Black Sea. In a separate plenary event, we will discuss in detail the geostrategic and political-economic consequences this might have. Another panel will also discuss Romania's contribution to the issue of minorities as well as their cultural and political roles in Europe. The first day of the symposium will conclude with a literary event in the evening. The remaining

half-day will be devoted to economic topics, focusing on investment opportunities in Romania and the Danube as a factor in economic policy.
