Technology Forum

-

To present a wide range of topics in depth - this has been and still is the "signature characteristic" of the Alpbach Technology Forum: plenary sessions, wide-ranging topics of scientific and political significance, and working groups - about ten of them each year - which within a time frame of six hours can discuss a topic in depth and thus can give recommendations for policymakers.

A selection of this year s topics:

Looking inside man, how organs work: "Leonardo da Vinci and the consequences"

"Climate change: the findings": a view from space by experts; creative, technical-scientific solutions like those suggested by Nobel Prize Laureate Paul Crutzen, and the strategy of the US that is being controversially discussed in Europe.

The subject of energy will be discussed in "Security". Security also plays a role in questioning how we deal with technology and scientific progress to begin with.

We grasp the world around us by our "Five senses". The role of "senses" and "sensuality", the consequences of losing "senses", will also be one of the main topics of this year s Alpbach Technology Forum.

The same goes for "Nature" which often can be a model for technical solutions: "Designed by Nature"
