Technology Symposium

-

"At the Crossroads" stands as a metaphor for technology and research. With regard to science, innovation and technology, Europe currently finds itself at some crossroads where a number of critical basic decisions have to be taken in order to safeguard an economically, politically and socially stable future.

Research promotion and innovation policy are faced with new challenges and models in society. New ways of thinking along the lines of "Open Innovation" and ever faster communications and product cycles in the digital age pose a challenge for established models of innovation.

Numerous plenary sessions and twelve working groups will connect research, innovation and technology in an interdisciplinary dialogue with international experts. "Junior Alpbach" and "OE1 Children's University" will explore new ways of science education for future generations. The general topic "At the Crossroads" therefore provides the framework for the productive interaction between the fields of science, politics and industry in the context of innovation.
