-Labour and gainful employment in Europe are the main topics of this year s Economic Symposium. The questions up for debate include the following: What does full employment mean? What are the causes of unemployment in Europe? Which are the growth markets for labour? Where can we identify labour shortages, and where do we see unemployment? Can we return to full employment, and at what wage level? How would full employment be characterised in the future? The Economic Symposium aims to outline the future market cultures for labour and to work towards convergence between the two poles of flexibility and job security .
