Which events are free of admission?
The participation in the Tyrol Days are free of charge. Additionally, all lectures, concerts, performanes, exhibitions and readings that are embedded in ART DAILY and ART NON STOP are free of charge. Find out more www.alpbach.art
What are the main parts fo the programme?
Alpbach Symposia
The Symposia are organised as self-contained conferences of two to three days’ duration which take place consecutively during the course of the European Forum Alpbach. They each focus on a different subject area: In addition to the Health, the Political and the Economic Symposia and the Technology Forum, the programme today offers the Law Symposium, the Financial Market Symposium and Artists in Discourse. Arts & Culture from a vita, ingetragted part of the European Forum Alpbach. The programmes are designed by separate advisory boards which join together experts from the fields in question. Numerous evening receptions round off the Symposia.
Seminar Week
The Alpbach Seminar Week constitutes the traditional academic part of the European Forum Alpbach. It is programmed according to the annual general topic by the Advisory Board, an interdisciplinary body of eminent scholars. The topics of the seminars range from biology, chemistry and medicine to political science, sociology and economics as well as literature and art history. Current issues are analysed theoretically, theories are elucidated through practical examples.

FANC
The Forum Alpbach Network Committee (FANC) is a group of scholarshop alumni that supports all scholarship holders on site. Additionally, the FANC organises a diverse supporting programme on site that is specifically targeted at scholarship holders such as excursions, fire side chats, clubbings, sporting events.

The European Forum Alpbach endeavours to continuously improve its security measures. Please note the following: The European Forum Alpbach in cooperation with Superevent offers a Programme-App for Smartphones (Android and iPhone) which allows you to receive all programme information and updates on your mobile phone from August on. Please notice that accommodation or board is not included in the participation fee. Kindly note, that you can only request a room after you have registered as a participant at the European Forum Alpbach. Together with your confirmation of registration we will send you a link to the reservation platform, which had been set up with our partners from the local incoming travel agencies for the guests of the European Forum Alpbach. Kindly understand that during the political symposium and economic symposium rooms in the village of Alpbach are predominantly reserved for our partnering institutions and our speakers who yearly join us unremunerated. The reservation platform uses room offers from the entire Alpbachtal and Seenland region. Our transprotation offers run along the locations of your accomodation. Upon arriving in Alpbach, please make your way to the Congress Centre Alpbach and register there. At our reception, which is open daily from 9am to 7pm, you will receive your access badge as well your conference folder containing the current programme and all information material. The access badge received at registration entitles you to participate in the events of the European Forum Alpbach during the indicated period. The badge has to be carried visibly and is not transferable. The badge is enabled with a chip that allows you to print and photocopy documents at the publicly accessible printers. Green Meeting
Green Meeting Alpbach is a project run by the European Forum Alpbach and the Congress Centre. It aims to make our event more sustainable and ecologically responsible. In July 2010, the Congress Centre and the European Forum Alpbach were awarded the “Umweltzeichen” for Green Meetings, the public certification from the Austrian Government.

Internet Access
A free internet café can be found on the ground floor of the Primary School building (Volksschule). It is equipped with computers (web access) and printers. Opening hours: 09:00 – 19:00.
In addition, free wireless lan is available in the Congress Centre Alpbach, Primary School and Secondary School.
Children in Alpbach
We provide a special programme for children from the age of 2 years during the European Forum Alpbach. More information on the offers will be online from June on and can be found under www.alpbach.org/2019
The conference languages are German and English. The seminars and breakout sessions will be held in either German or English. Please find further details in the programme.
The plenary meetings taking place in the Erwin-Schrödinger-Saal, Elisabeth-Herz-Kremenak-Saal and the Liechtenstein-Hayek-Saal are translated simultaneously into English and German. Earphones and receivers can be lent at the door – please hand them back after the plenary meetings. Please note that most events in other venues are held in German or English without translation. For details, please see the inside of the programme.
Mail and Fax service
At the reception on the ground floor of the Congress Centre incoming mail as well as fax messages can be collected.

Mobile Printing
In cooperation with Xerox Austria GmbH, the European Forum Alpbach provides a mobile printing service. Printers for free use (up to 100 pages per participant) can be found in the Congress Centre, in the internet café and in the Secondary School (Hauptschule). E-mail the message or document (attachment) you want to print to print@xerox4you.at. You will receive a PIN. To collect the printout, go to any of the printers, hold your access badge to the card reader and enter your PIN. The printers can also be used for photocopying, scanning and e-mailing documents.

Venues
All Plenary Sessions take place in the Alpbach Congress Centre. It is the main contact point for all inquiries related to the events taking place during the Forum. In the Congress Centre, you will find the reception, the office of the European Forum Alpbach, the press centre, the office of the tourist association, as well as a snack bar. Other important locations hosting our events are:
- Secondary School (Hauptschule Alpbach): hosts the Seminar Week and some of the breakout sessions
- Elementary School (Volksschule Alpbach): hosts the Alpbach Learning Missions, the child care programme; free access to the internet for all participants is provided in the rooms on the ground floor
- Neighbouring hotels: host individual working sessions, social events and most of the activities organised by the Forum Alpbach Network Committee (FANC)
