Boris BERGANT Former Vice President of the European Broadcasting Union; Media Adviser, Slovenia

 Boris Bergant is adviser to the director general of RTV SLO and senior consultant to the EBU. His experience in broadcasting includes serving as editor of foreign affairs, editor-in-chief of news and current affairs at Slovenian television, as well as working in radio programming. From 1989 to 1992, Bergant served as president of Circom-regional and, from 1995 to 2001, served as its secretary-general. He was a long-serving member of the Administrative Council of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 1990 and in 1993 was elected vice-chairman of the Television Committee of the EBU. From 1989 to 2009 served as a vice-president for the EBU. He is active within SEEMO. Bergant has received numerous awards for his work, including the award for the best journalistic achievement in Slovenia. He has published in the fields of foreign politics and broadcasting. In 2009 he was awarded the Dr. Erhard Busek SEEMO Award for Better Understanding in Southeast Europe.
