| Has been very active in the European Future Internet discussions for the past number of years. He is currently leading the industry group promoting the Future Internet PPP. The Future Internet PPP, as proposed by EFII, will enable the early availability of a framework (specification, interfaces, standards, development and trials) to speed up the development, deployment and take-up (adoption) of futuristic added-value services in Europe. The main result of this Initiative will be a pan European demonstration of the European Future Internet services by 2014. This will facilitate an early uptake of the results in the European marketplace, benefiting European citizens, and a competitive advantage for European industry in the global market place. | |
| The European Future Internet web portal at www.future-internet.eu is hosted by Eurescom to be the central information hub for the European Future Internet discussion and Eurescom committed to maintaining and developing this central focus point of European Initiatives on the future Internet to keep all interested players informed on progress toward the goal of a working Future Internet in Europe. |
