| In May 2017 Etilda Gonjaj was appointed as Deputy minister of Justice. In the same year she was appointed Minister of Justice with the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania and the decree of the President of the Republic of Albania. Prior Gjonaj was Commissioner of the Peoples Ombudsman´s Institution, decision approved by the Albanian Parliament´s, with a three year term in office being in charge of the Section of Central and Local Public Administration Issues from 2014-2017. From 2015-2017 she was Expert of the Technical Secretariat, set up at the Special Parliamentary Commission on Justice Reform. During this period she has been part of working groups on the formulation of a number of draft laws of the Justice Reform package. Furthermore she is an Expert in a number of domestic and foreign organizations focusing on human rights and justice issues. |
