 Formerly, he has been professor of philosophy of science and economic methodology at Universidad Carlos III (Madrid, Spain), and he worked as well as a high school teacher.
 He is Ph.D. both in philosophy and in economics.
 As academic coordinator of the Urrutia Elejalde Foundation, he has organised numerous international meetings on economics and philosophy.
 He has taken part in several research projects on philosophy of science, and is currently the coordinator of a research on the public perception of science for the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.

Vicepresident of the Iberian American Society for Economic Methodology.
Treasurer of the Spanish Society for Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science.
Member of the International Network for Economic Methodology.
