While at the beginning of globalization, trading activities were at the foreground, the trend towards globalization has now spread to all value-added activities. This also includes the relocation of production to attractive sites outside Europe. The strategic significance of production companies for Europe is beyond dispute and therefore the question arises: What is the future of production in Europe?
