Von Jänner 2007 bis Juni 2008 war Doris Bures Bundesministerin für Frauen, Medien und Öffentlicher Dienst. Von 2000 bis Anfang Jänner 2007 und von Juni bis Anfang Dezember 2008 war sie Bundesgeschäftsführerin der Sozialdemokratischen Partei Österreichs (SPÖ). |
| Doris Bures gehörte von 1990 bis Jänner 2007 und von Juni bis Anfang Dezember 2008 als Abgeordnete dem Nationalrat an, wo sie Wohnbausprecherin ihrer Partei und Vorsitzende des parlamentarischen Bautenausschusses war. Außerdem stand Doris Bures in den Jahren 1997 bis 2007 der Mietervereinigung Österreichs als Präsidentin vor. |
| Bures, geboren am 3. August 1962 in Wien, hat im Anschluss an die integrierte Gesamtschule und die Handelsschule die Ausbildung zur zahnärztlichen Assistentin absolviert, 1980 wechselte sie ins Bundessekretariat der Sozialistischen Jugend Österreichs. Von 1985 bis 1986 betreute Bures ein Projekt mit arbeitslosen Jugendlichen. |
| In den Jahren 1987 bis 1990 war Doris Bures im Wiener Landesjugendreferat (1987 bis 1988) tätig und Bezirksrätin in ihrem Heimatbezirk Wien/Liesing, wo sie von 1995 bis 2009 stellvertretende Vorsitzende ihrer Partei war. Seit März 2009 ist sie Parteivorsitzende der SPÖ Liesing. |
