German and English languageThe globalization of food production constantly offers new challenges for the consumers’ safety. Scandals e.g. melamine-contaminated dairy products in China or “marquee flus” like SARS and swine flu make international headlines. Can we still trust in our food?
In the working group a selective group of experts from economy and science will discuss the following questions:
How rapidly does the industry react to negative incidents? At which point does the safety-check start and can we trust in it? In which areas does intensive research happen? Does the packaging industry deliver improvements to our food safety? How does marketing influence consumer behaviour and what are the trends that are to be expected?
