02: Ambient Assisted Living

in deutscher Sprache

This working group is held in thematic cooperation with the working group “SOCIAL BUSINESS – HOW TO SOLVE SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN AN ENTREPRENEURIAL WAY” of the Alpbach Economic Symposium.

The concept of “ambient assisted living” (AAL) comprises technologies or services meant to guarantee enhanced independence mainly for elderly people in their own homes. AAL concepts can also contribute to ease the burden on public finances. Many individual AAL solutions are already being applied, an overall concept, however, is rare. We will discuss what AAL can contribute technologically and financially to ease the burden on public budgets and how overall concepts can be implemented successfully.
