in deutscher SpracheInnovation and equality of opportunities as the bases for feasible human resources policies will be the central topic of this working group. Starting from the fact that innovation is THE prerequisite for growth, international competitiveness and the creation of high-quality jobs, there is the question in which form men and women are parts of this knowledge society and bring to bear their potentials. The disequilibrium in how men and women participate in research and technology is a fact (not only) in Austria, although numerous instruments and measures to create parity of treatment already exist. Why is it so difficult to create equality of opportunities, although everyone demands it, or – to put it provocatively – how innovative can an innovation society be without activating the huge innovation potentials of women? This working group will show where we stand here in Austria and – together with political decision-makers – develop necessary options.
