13: Modern Technologies and their Role in Democratic Processes

-
Hotel Böglerhof
Breakout /
in deutscher Sprache

Never before has technology’s influence on democratic processes been bigger than today. This is proven by the current radical changes in many former autocracies which progressed through the opportunities offered by social media as well as the latest communications technologies. The speakers will present five thematic areas to show where and how technology has been fundamentally shaping our political lives. We will also deal with legal requirements (keyword “surveillance society”) because modern technologies are meant to secure our well-being and jobs but not make us anxious.
