Finance and the real economy are becoming increasingly interdependent and, thus, ever more complex. There is an infinite number of ways in which money can be spent and invested. In the face of this abundance of options, people often become disoriented and get caught in the debt trap. We need new approaches to be able to reverse these developments. People do not only lack theoretical knowledge, but also experience applying it in their everyday lives. We will use a live experiment to find out what helps people gain an overview in complex situations in which they are required to make decisions. Which senses and competences do people need to remain capable of acting and making decisions?
