11: Connected Learning, Connected Schools

Learning can be defined as establishing networks of knowledge and knowing people. Personal mobile internet access can provide us with new and rich learning environments. Digital networks and media are, however, used only reluctantly and selectively by schools. In this breakout session, Austrian and international projects will be used as examples for illustrating the opportunities offered by digital media and networks, but also the challenges and limits of digital learning. It is not the aim to replace established learning methods by new ones, but to complement and support existing models. Experts will discuss the requirements for a smooth transition.
