How does Europe breathe?

The works created in the framework of the eu-art-network symposium “Fluchtpunkt Europa” (Refuge Europe) are directly linked to the play “atem; aus; atmen” (breath; out; breathing) staged at the opening session of the Political Symposium. They contextualise and complement an intensive artistic encounter with the death of 71 refugees – the tragedy of Parndorf that represents without doubt an unexpected turn of events in the so-called refugee crisis. Suddenly, the drama that we had only known from images of capsized boats in the Mediterrenean had arrived in at our Central European doorsteps.
