Drawing from her in-depth knowledge of the German literary scene, Sigrid Löffler together with renowned writers in Alpbach, will discuss topics at the interface of fiction and reality. This year she will tackle the topic of political radicalisation of young men who have drifted towards fundamentalism and even terrorism.

MA Sherko FATAH

 Sherko Fatah was born in East Berlin in 1964 to a German mother and an Iraqi Kurd father. Fatah spent part of his childhood in Iraq, where his father still lives today. In 1975, he and his parents settled in West Germany. Fatah studied philosophy and art history in West Berlin.In 1999 he attended a writers' workshop at Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. Since then he published four novels an one novella.
