04: Austria in the EU: 20 Years of Experiences and Expectations

-
Hauptschule
Breakout /
in deutscher Sprache

20 years ago, Austria joined the EU and was empowered to enjoy many opportunities and to experience an enormous growth stimulus. 20 years later, our Europe is different: Schengen, the Euro and the enlargement are just some examples of the rapid development of the EU. At the same time, we find ourselves facing further challenges: the economic crisis, migration flows, euroscepticism, the EU referendum in the UK, the Ukrainian crisis and IS terror. For Austria and for future generations, a Europe without borders is indispensable. How can Austria make the most of its opportunities? Have Austrian expectations been fulfilled? What are Austrias expectations of a future EU?
