Societies today have to face multifaceted risks and interconnected threats. Only a multidisciplinary understanding of these risks can allow us to tackle them effectively. In order to help the individual, we need to achieve a better understanding of societies in extreme situations and coordinate the strategies of states and international institutions in emergencies and crises. In this breakout session, national and international experts will discuss potential risks that require attention on national, regional and international levels, such as natural and technological disasters, complex emergencies, social and economic risks or internal conflicts.
