in englischer Sprache

We will analyse the main security challenges at Europe’s periphery. In particular, current security developments confront the Common Security and Defence Policy of the European Union with new challenges. Current hotspots, such as the civil war in Syria, or major political changes, such as those in the Arab world, show that we need to rethink security. Since regional conflicts and political crises do not stop at the gates of Europe, they constitute a major challenge for political leaders.
