12: Inequality Before and After the Financial Crisis
Supported by the Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour
Economic inequality has become even more pronounced since the start of the Great Recession, in particular in countries with high unemployment. At the same time, economists increasingly recognise that inequality was one of the major causes of the financial crisis. In this breakout session, we will analyse the relation between inequality, crisis and macroeconomic development, and discuss how economic policy should react to this challenge.
