14: Care as a Gender Political and Economic Challenge

-
Hauptschule
Breakout /
in deutscher Sprache

In a materially rich society such as our own, we are nevertheless conscious of a permanent lack of time and decent provision for our families. The significance of care work in our economic system therefore deserves to be analysed. What effects did the financial and economic crisis have and what does this mean for gender relations? How can the system be reformed in order to create the necessary room for care work without needing to rely on unpaid work by women and precarious employment arrangements? And what costs arise if this reform is unsuccessful?
