15: New Technologies – Old Inequalities

in deutscher Sprache

The digital gap as an economic brake for Austria: “The New World of Work” stands for mobility, social networking, high individual responsibility and flexibility in professional life. This is made possible through the increasing digitalisation, which is not necessarily profitable for all: just in Austria for example, the digital gap affects a mere 20% of the population. People with a low income, a low level of education and/or a migration background are particularly disadvantaged. What do we need in the long term in order to overcome this digital gulf in our society? In an interdisciplinary breakout session, leading representatives from the economy, politics and society discuss a range of measures.
